i've done absolutely nothing this week! it was so boring! i didn't even watch tv. (with the exception of oprah on tuesday - it was something about twins separated at birth who found each other. aww. how nice.)
so, i'm really glad to be leaving tomorrow morning for ottawa. my welcome session isn't until saturday morning, but my parents and i are leaving friday morning so we can get there by the afternoon to tour the city before checking into the hotel. yay! i get to play tourist!
while daydreaming/surfing the internet today, i found out that there's a culinary school in ottawa. it's called le cordon bleu, and yum! i would love to go there (not as a student) and just watch people cook delicious food.

i really hate staying at home when there's nothing to do, though. i should.. find something to do. err.

in my opinion, the best song on the radio right now is "heaven" by live. it reminds me of last summer's train song.
i also heard from the radio that justin timberlake got water bottles pelted at him at yesterday's concert.

i just had this dream that i had over $30 in overdue fines to the library. it was horrific! i remember saying, "but these aren't due til august 7th!" but she said, "no, you've got the wrong month. they've been due since july 7th." do they really fine you a dollar a day, or is everything that i dream about always exaggerated? and isn't there a limit to how much they can fine you - $10 i think?

but i checked my library account. august 7th it is.
that was maybe the most boring dream ever, though.

i was randomly clicking on bookmarked links, just doing the usual internet surfing, when i stumbled onto mandy's blog and found a link.
these people's nicknames sound familiar, i thought to myself. Hermione? Yam Yam? Raindrops?
and then i realized who was behind this... FREAKS!

...don't mind me, i'm just jealous because i'm only halfway through the goblet of fire.

i like shrimp crackers.
but that's not what i wanted to say.

i can't wait 'til this week is over!
i'm afraid to sit down comfortably or lie down, because this whole week i've been falling asleep everywhere: on the subway, on my basement mattress, on my living room couch...
usch.

yesterday,
i slept from 9 pm to 7 am.
that was the best night of sleep, EVER.

okay, bye.

look john:

Jolly good, wot! Anyone for tennis? That'll be ten ponies, guv. You're the epitome of everything that is english. Yey :) Hoist that Union Jack!
How British are you?

i got that off the site where mar and alicia took their "deathday" quizzes.

from an instruction sheet for our work diaries at school:

Vocabulary words that are new and provide names for specific emotions, attitudes and objects you'd never known how to express before, should be written down - they will ultimately free your writing from the stammer of inexactness and allow you to articulate more acutely the life you feel and perceive.

isn't that beautiful?
and somewhat nerdy. i want to make a new personal, offline diary. or maybe a scrapbook of high school to start with.

as promised, i'm posting up pictures from canada day.

mmm! lili, jen c., alicia, james and i went up to whittamore's for to pick strawberries. it was a scrumptious experience. afterwards, we went to lili's house and had pizza with a million toppings. we went to the park too, where we played frisbee, went on the swings, stole jen and james's shoes and tried to catapult them off the seesaws. (it doesn't work.)

look, it's us, in a field, killing our own food. you don't see that every day.

mmm #2! yuen, jen, vic and i made this delicious cheesecake. we scheduled in "incompetence time". while we were waiting for it to bake, we watched spirited away. it was a good movie, wasn't it? *cough*animatah-HATAHS!*cough*
then we went to milliken park...

...to watch fireworks.

that was, by far, the best canada day of my life!

we went to look at computers today. i don't really need one, but my dad wants to get us a laptop on top of the desktop i already want to get. and let me add that this is my dad, the penny-pincher of the family, who never goes shopping, unless it's to buy socks or something of necessity. i guess it's kind of sweet. (still, you wonder why with his influence, i still shop so much.) i looked at PDAs too. i don't really need one. i just want one. hehe. here we go again.

my parents are also looking into buying a car, because ours is old. it's a 1989 model, good laaawd. i'd almost be emotionally attached to it if it didn't smell funny sometimes. and wasn't ugly. those people were right; love is superficial.

i want to see the movie whalerider.

summer school is half over! that's kind of cool. the course is actually... dare i say... interesting. we read funny plays and stories and get a lot of work done in six hours. people in my class are pretty cool, and nice: on the second day of school, this girl that sits in front of me gave me cookies. other people tell funny stories and seem to have interesting lives.. two of them live near scott speedman!! (from felicity) a guy who sits in the front took 7 years to finish high school, but he's so enthusiastic, it makes him endearing. there used to be a middle-aged man in our class, who had a jamaican accent and was SO much more advanced than the rest of us young'uns, but he doesn't come anymore. yesterday after class this guy told me my poem was nice. our teacher is the most positive person in the world, and our supply teacher had green tints in her white hair. i'm getting a good mark. the school is air-conditioned! and pretty, too. it's located near the korean business district, little korea, or korea town, or whatever it's called in ordinary conversation. i went into honest ed's to buy chips, got lost for half an hour, still couldn't find the chips and settled for chocolate instead. hehe. so summer school is not all that boring. am i seeing life through rose-tinted glasses?

i googled "rose-tinted glasses" and got a bunch of web journals as my results. i didn't know they were so ubiquitous.
hehe. let's google "johnny depp".

last week, my aunt and uncle made a cross-country trip, BY CAR, from vancouver all the way here! they're here to stay and moving in with their son for now, who just bought a one-person condo. anyway, my aunt is cool! she always has fun stories to tell. like how i was an aggressive toddler, punching people if they tried to poke me and bumping into their legs with my walker... unbelievable!

i'll be back later. i have a feeling there are pictures on my camera to upload.
